Lunch at “Fuku no Tori” in Kayaba-cho During Health Check

Good evening.
Thank you very much for your reading this blog.
I introduce a restaurant “Fuku no Tori” in Kayaba-cho today.

On that day, I was in Kayaba-cho to have a blood test at a clinic.
It was July 7th and a Star Festival day called “Tanabata” in Japan.
There is an old story about “Tanabata” that a married couple living in the sky world who made the god angry were separated across a milky way by the god.
They were only allowed to see each other on July 7th. If it rains on the day, they cannot meet. July 7th is often rainy, but the day I came to the clinic was clear, and it seemed that the couple could make it under a good weather.

Well, I’d like to complain that their case is better than mine because at least they have a partner who are waiting for each other to see.
Now, the reason why I came to have a blood test was that I got a bad result in a health check in June. My working hours from March to early June was too much, and I had a bad health condition such as frequent gouty attack.

I took a day off to fill up the holiday shift on a Friday in later June, and came to the clinic to have a medical check.
The doctor said, “You are too fat! You must limit your daily intake calorie under 1700kcal, and try hard on a diet” after examination. The doctor instructed me to come again after 2 weeks on this July 7th.

I left my work place at 11 a.m., and arrived at the clinic at half passed 11 and took my blood out.
The blood didn’t come out much at the first shot on my right arm (probably because the water in blood was less due to the hot weather??)
So the nurse had to use a special equipment to suck out my blood.
I thought that blood was to spout out when the body got pricked with a needle, so I was surprised.

It took about an hour until the result came out, so I came to this restaurant “Fuku no Tori” for lunch while waiting.
The inside of the building was like this below.

The menu photo is fuzzy.

It said that they had all-you-can-eat curry on that day. It was very attractive, but as I had just instructed to do calorie restriction, I ordered “Kara-age (Japanese deep-fried chicken) with salty leek sauce”.
I read the menu of dinner time and some brochure of the restaurant while waiting for my meal to come.

These were very interesting because I could see how they tried to become better and what kind of policy they had.
I also knew from these sheets that they wouldn’t get angry if the customers ate their Yakitori (grilled chicken pieces on sticks) after taking off the chicken from sticks.
While I was enjoying the information, my Kara-age arrived.

It was a composition of Japanese meal called “Ichiju-Sansai”; one soup and three side dishes.
Seeing this and another Kara-age meal at “Tosaka” which I introduced before, I wondered if it’s the trend of Japanese Kara-age to fry one big piece of chicken. I thought that Kara-age was usually individual small pieces.

Let’s try the chicken without leek first.

The batter coating was crunchy and nice.
Now, with the leek and the salt sauce.

Probably because of the salt, the meat tasted sweeter. The meat was soft and juicy, and the fat made the taste mild. The salt and chicken went so good with rice that I had to try not to eat rice too much.
The main dish was of course great, but also this soup was very nice.

It was cooked well as the vegetable inside lost their shapes.

It had rich chicken flavor. Even though it didn’t taste of salt or other seasoning much, it tasted so nice.
I managed to stop my desire to order another bowl of rice, and finished my lunch.

I don’t know if it’s right, but I personally believe that Kara-age describes the quality and policy of the restaurant. This restaurant’s chicken was a little unique compared to other restaurants’, so I enjoyed it.
As written in the brochure in the previous photos, they had their own chicken factory. I could feel their strong policy about their food from such episodes and the foods they served.
Actually, that day was not a good day because I had some bad lucks such as my doctor was arrived late and I was skipped over in the waiting list at the clinic. However, this nice lunch made it much better.
I liked this restaurant very much, and I’d like to try again at dinner time some time.

It’s our great pleasure if this article is helpful for you.
