Enjoyed crispy Kara-age and a drink at “Beniton”, Shinkoiwa

Good evening!
Thank you very much for visiting this blog!

Now, today’s topic is a restaurant in Shinkoiwa, “Beniton”.

“Beniton” in Shinkoiwa

The day was Saturday in the mid February.
I went out for a drink with my ex-senior colleague in the day.
I had a drinking party with him in January, too, and I left my scarf at the restaurant at that time.

He noticed it and he brought me the scarf for me on the day in February.
We met at the south exit of Shinkoiwa Station, and I checked the scarf……, oh, that wasn’t mine!

We laughed because the purpose of the meeting was nothing at the end.
Well, but the main purpose was drinking, not the scarf, so we started walking to the restaurant.
My ex-colleague had a restaurant which he wanted to try on the night.
He said that the restaurant would close in 1 hour, so he recommended me to go there for a few drinks and some snacks. The restaurant was “Beniton”.

The right side of the floor was the kitchen, table seats at the left, and more table seats were at the back.
It was like a typical public Izakaya bar.

This is the menu.

Koshi-no-Happo, Ozeki, Mio, Karatamba – There were various kinds of sake such as brands which are popular in the people who are heavy sake lover and like dry taste, and also other brands which are liked by those who are light drinkers such as young people or ladies.
It seemed that they aim a wide target.

The menu of “Beniton”

It had not been much time since I woke up by the time, and I was thirsty as I hadn’t had any drinks.
I ordered a whisky and soda first to moisten my throat.
My ex-colleague ordered Hoppy (Japanese beer-taste drink which has only slight alcohol).
Both of us chose 1 food each because we were to go another place after this restaurant, and we didn’t want to eat too much.

The one he ordered was this.

Negi Mori (chopped spring onion with seasoning).
He said that it was Beniton’s special dish… at least for him.
As he recommended, it tasted nice with sesame oil flavor, and it was good with drinks.

What I ordered was,

Tori no Kara-age (Japanese deep fried chicken).
To look back my previous blogs, I order Kara-age almost every time I visit restaurants.

Most restaurants have Kara-age in their menus, and it’s a simple dish but enjoyable because the taste and texture differ depends on the places.
I think it’s a good subject for the blog.
When the new website gets on the track, it might be a good idea to make database of Kara-age as well!

Joking aside, I tried the Kara-age.

It was simple salty flavor, and I liked the crispy texture very much!
There might be pros and cons about this very crispy Kara-age, but I personally liked it.

Of course, it was perfect with beer or whisky and soda, but I also thought that it would be good with Nihonshu as it had strong salty taste.
I wanted to order Nihonshu to try it, but there was only one staff and looked very busy, and the time to leave came while we were hesitating to order.

We couldn’t spend much time at this “Beniton”, but I thought that it was a useful place for both just a light drinking and a proper meal.
Next time I’d like to visit them again for more drinks and foods.
