“Bi-Fun” lunch at “Kenmin”, Roppongi 1-chome

Good Evening!
Thank you very much for visiting this blog.

Today’s report is about a lunch at Roppongi 1-chome as well as the last article.
The restaurant I report this time is “Kenmin Dining, Roppongi-ten”.

The main menu of this restaurant is “Bi-fun” (fried rice noodles). Kenmin……, yes, Kenmin is the company which is famous for a product “Kenmin’s Yaki Bi-fun”. This restaurant is run by Kenmin Foods.

I knew “Kenmin’s Yaki Bi-fun” from TV ads which I saw when I was younger, but it never appeared in my home, and didn’t see it much outside either. Convenience stores have Kenmin Bi-fun, but I hadn’t tried it because I thought that Bi-fun was too light and healthy, and not enough to satisfy my stomach.
Recently, I had recovered from sick so I felt like having some light meal. That’s why I chose this restaurant for a try.

In the restaurant,

There were no counter seats. Tables like the photo above were placed orderly. The kitchen was back of the main room, and the customers could see the kitchen (I didn’t take photos to show it because there were many other customers).

After a while of reading the menu, I decided to have this.

A plate of Bi-fun and Asian-flavored rice.
Soon after I ordered this,

Soup and Szechuan pickles for appetizer arrived first.
The soup was a taste of chicken bones stock, and was thickened. As well as the pickles, the salty taste was not too strong but just right.
After a while, the main plate arrived.

It was bigger than I thought. You see it in the next photo.

Look at this Bi-fun mountain!
I wanted to try Bi-fun first, but managed to start from salad as usual.

And Yaki Bi-fun.

I couldn’t know what kind of seasoning sauce was used exactly, but the spicy smell stimulated my appetite.

The noodles were well flavored with the sauce. The vegetables for the ingredients were not so much, and the sauce flavor was delicious enough itself, so I could enjoy the noodles very much.

The next is Thai Gapao rice.

This is the normal Gapao of simple and delicious Gapao flavor. The onsen-tamago (slow-boiled and half-cooked egg) is cooked a little but the yolk doesn’t break.

Personally, I like non-cooked yolk because I can mix it with the rice. When I mixed the bowl, the sweet taste of yolk and the spice of Gapao matched well.

Finished the meal!
The Bi-fun was much more satisfying than I thought, and my stomach became full!

The Bi-fun I tried this time was “Fujian-style Yaki Bi-fun”, but there were other varieties such as “Chilly Hot Bi-fun”, “Special Earthen Pot Bi-fun”, and “Soup Bi-fun”. They also had Vietnamese Pho. It is a nice idea of them that not limiting their menu in Bi-fun because they are a Bi-fun company, but also serving other kinds of noodles to keep entertaining the customers.
I didn’t see the dinner menu, but I could imagine that they should serve nice and interesting dish at evening as well seeing the lunch menu. I want to try dinner some time.
