Soba to conclude the night at “Kogetsu”

Cherry flowers has finished, and the trees are turning green in Kochi City.
I was wandering to find a good place for a drink on that night.

I was thinking about which to take, going to another restaurant or going home, after I left the first Izakaya restaurant.
Then, I came in front of a board of a restaurant which I had interested in by coincidence.
I knew that they had soba noodles.
I thought “Soba should be perfect for the last dish after drinking!”, and I entered this restaurant.

The restaurant, “Soba & Sake Kogetsu” was on the second floor.
There were stairs at the right side of Kogetsu’s lantern light.

I went up the stairs, and their shop curtain in the picture above appeared.
I opened the slide door and entered the room.

The time was late, but there were still many customers.
There was a space at the counter, and I took a seat there.
The counter was in front of the kitchen which was comfortable for a lonely visitor, which was perfect for me!

There were 2 or 3 tables and counter seats.
The room was not too big, and just comfortable.
The visitors sit close to each other, so people can enjoy meeting and chatting with new people. Meanwhile, the atmosphere was so relaxing.

“Keigetsu Gin-no-Yume 50 Junmai Daiginjo” for the first glass

As soon as I took a seat, a staff brought me an appetizer.

Rape plants dressed with mustard.
It was simple but delicious!
It was “Bocchiri” for a slow sipping sake. (“Bocchiri” is a Kochi’s dialect for “Pittari = perfect”. I think it’s a useful word!)

Before ordering soba noodles to conclude the night, I ordered a glass of “Keigetsu Gin-no-Yume 50 Junmai Daiginjo”.
This is Kochi’s local sake.
It’s made by “Tosa Shuzo Co., Ltd.”, in the mountain area of Kochi.

The texture was a kind of creamy, but the after taste was very clear.
I thought that it was sweet and easy to drink, but according to Tosa Shuzo’s website, it’s classified as “dry”.
Well, it was so delicious that I couldn’t stop drinking even though I drank and ate much at the first place.

Meanwhile, “Jako Oroshi (half-dried small fish with grated daikon radish)” which I had ordered arrived.

The looking was such a typical ATE (dish taken with alcoholic drinks).
I like this kind of snack pretty much.
The fish and daikon radish was nice for the last glass.

The second glass “Bijofu Shuwa!!” and the main dish, Soba

While I was enjoying the sake and the snack slowly, I started to talk with a man next to me who was talking with the restaurant’s owner.
He said that he came to Kochi for sightseeing alone all the way from Tohoku (northeast of Japan).
The man, the owner, and I talked about his plan for the next day, recommending him here and there, this and that.

After a while, he and I decided to have a bottle together for some reason, and

ordered a 300ml bottle of “Bijofu Shuwa!!“.
This “Bijofu” was the same brand which I introduce in my previous blog about a yakitori restaurant “Chuya”, but was different label of it.

Today’s “Shuwa!!” is a type called “sparkling Seishu”.
It looks like champagne in a glass like this.
Of course, the taste was good!

I was happy to have a fun time with a person from far away, and I suddenly noticed that I had filled up his glass too quickly and made him drink too much (;´・ω・)
Probably he got drunk, and he left the restaurant earlier than me…. (Thank you for sharing time with such a drunk!)

Well, I became alone again, and ordered the main dish, soba noodles.

Soooooo good!!! It filled up my body and heart warmly!
What a good restaurant they were who had all the sake, foods, and soba perfect!

I meant to stop there for a short time for the last drink at first, but I enjoyed more than I expected.

This restaurant, “Soba & Sake Kogetsu” is run by a wife and husband.
You don’t feel lonely even when you visit there by yourself, and you can enjoy great drinks, foods, and soba noodles!
